Our elbows are a strong hinge in our arms that allow flexing and rotation of our forearms. From the elbow, our muscles for our wrist and hand originate.

There are three bones that connect and come together at the elbow joint, called the condyle. The area around this connection of bones is called the epicondyle. A common elbow problem occurs when inflammation starts, called epicondylitis.

Attached at the condyles are tendons of muscles which  People also experience pain due to flexor or extensor tendonitis causing inflammation. Typically when there is an issue with inflammation of these tendons and the tendon does not heal, it will flip over into “tendonosis”, which is a non-healing condition of the tendon. It is not inflamed anymore but is also not trying to heal, rather the collagen fibers are not repairing faster than they are breaking down so it is considered a degenerative condition.
